Gerald L. COREY

COREY, Gerald L. -- Age 81, of Linden, died suddenly April 15, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, Fr. Robert McKeon and Rev. Donald Neuville officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Thursday, 12-3 and 6-9 PM Friday. Gerald was born June 13, 1927 at home in Fenton, the son of Lowell and Luella (Combs) Corey. He married Ann M. Vincent on June 28, 1947 in Fenton. He was a lifelong farmer. Their family farm, Level Lawn Farms, was operated by four generations of Coreys. Surviving are: wife, Ann M. Corey; four children, Sharon and husband Bill Brockett of Fenton, Dennis "Joe" and wife Carolyn of Linden, Susan and husband Jeff Hnatow of Fenton, Michael and wife Karen of Linden; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister, Margie and husband Jack Weir of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Duane. Due to Gerald's lifelong commitment to raising cattle and crop farming, the Corey family suggests contributions be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan in Gerald's memory.
