Gerald Cole

COLE, Gerald LaVerne- Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Durand Convelescent Home.  Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Monday, December 24, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor J.D. Landis officiating.  Burial following in Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday.  Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee Humane Society or American Heart Association.  Mr. Cole was born June 8, 1922 in Flint, the son of Frank and Harriet (Monroe) Cole.  He married Martha Murdock April 18, 1942 in Flint.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army.  He retired from the City of Flint as a Engineer after 25 years of service.  He was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and was a life time resident of the Flint area.  He is survived by his wife, Martha; 2 sons, Gerald L. Cole, Jr. and wife Virginia of Flint, Dennis Cole and Linda of Swartz Creek; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; 2 sisters, Velma Crown and Agatha Common; brother, Darwin Cole.  Online condolences and tribute may be posted on the Obituries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
