BLACK, Gerald Alan "Jerry" - age 56, of Fenton, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Services will be held 1 PM Friday, October 2, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Rev. David Eshleman officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Feed The Children (www.feedthechildren.org). Jerry was born August 30, 1959 in Flint, the son of Donald and Bonnie (Fortin) Black. He retired from General Motors. Jerry received an Associates degree from Oakland County Community College in Landscape Technology and owned and operated a landscaping company. He was an avid hunter and motorcycle enthusiast. Jerry was a great chef and loved gardening. He was a down to earth, humble and loving father and friend. Surviving are: wife, Lee Black of Fenton; two daughters, Katherine Black and Rachel Black, both of Fenton; two sisters, Cheryl Black of Grand Rapids and Theresa (Ron) Uptergrove of Northville; step-mother, Resie Black; several nieces and nephews; friend, Bobbie Grace-Price; faithful companions, Asti Spumante and Maxx.
