PENN, Georgia M., age 95, died of natural causes Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Born on December 25, 1909 to Maggie and Fletcher Giles in Pageton, West Virginia. Georgia had 4 sisters- Carena, Evelyn, Nokomis and Virginia, and one brother, Hiawatha, all of whom she will join in Heaven. Georgia was a long time resident of Institute, West Virginia with her husband Walter Penn until his death, before her temporary move to Grand Blanc, MI. From their union, Georgia and Walter had a daughter, Irma, who died on June 27, 2002. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Dunbar, West Virginia and in Flint had attended St. Michael Catholic Church. In addition to being the cornerstone of the family, Georgia spent several years of her life as a dental hygienist and managed a small drugstore. Georgia is survived by a daughter, Tracy Penn-Hutchings of Columbus, OH; 2 grandchildren, Dr. C. Michael Lewis and wife Dr. Stephanie Whisiker-Lewis of Grand Blanc, Kimberly and husband Christopher Simon of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are great-grandchildren: Carla, Kenneth, Simone, Chelsey, Aleia, Baile, Jordan; Nieces, Joanne, Denise, Margo, Roxanne, Rhoda, and Alvyce; great nephews, Stanford, Gary, Jimmy, Fletcher, Savaje, and DaRhon; and a host of extended family and friends that she touched throughout her beautiful life. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 609 E. Fifth Ave. Rev. Fr. Phillip Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint (Just South of Hill Rd.) from 2-4PM and 6-8PM today and at the church from 9:30A.M.until the service time.
