December 24, 1912 — July 30, 2003

WOLBERT, George D.  Age 90, of Flint, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 12:30 PM Saturday, August 2, 2003 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley, Flint with Fr. Douglas Osborn celebrant. Visitation will be held from 6:30  9 PM Thursday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Prayer services will begin at 7 PM Friday with Fr. Osborn and the Knights of Columbus Council #695. Visitation will also be held 11:30 am until the time of the mass on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to the Byzantine Franciscans, St. John Vianney Educational Fund, or the charity of ones choice. Mr. Wolbert was born December 24, 1912 in Springfield, OH, the son of George and Fannie (Bouchard) Wolbert and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. He has resided in Flint since 1932. Mr. Wolbert married Mary OLear on April 15, 1939 in Flint and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2000. He was employed by Arctic Seal Test for 25 years and then owned and operated Linden Road Shopping Center for 20 years. Mr. Wolbert was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #695. Surviving are: ten children, Jerome (Judith) of Swartz Creek, Corenna (Phillip) Partridge of Ft. Myers, FL, Patricia Ann of Marlton, NJ, Dennis of Orchard Park, NY, Wayne and wife, Nelda of Portage, Cyril (Shawn) of Webberville, Leta (Jim) Gonsler of Grand Blanc, Dale (Shelly) of Flushing, David (Karen) of Grand Blanc, Monica (Ozzie) Borrelli of Windsor, Ontario; 36 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: two sons, Samuel Lee and Noel Patrick; one brother. Friends may share their online condolences with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
