George Smith

SMITH, George Byron - Age 83, of Linden, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, November 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, 5372 Seymour Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery . Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Gideons International. George was born May 29, 1932 in Fowlerville, the son of Hillyard and Lucille (Roberts) Smith. George served in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean War. He married Marna Larson on July 13, 1989. George retired from General Motors. George is survived by his wife, Marna; children, Laura (Randy) Luckenbill of Durand and Cheryl Smith of Durand; grandchildren, Leann and Whitney; several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank the staff of Rockwell Memory Care for their loving care.
