METIVIER, George Thomas, age 76, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, August 23, 2007. Private family graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linden. He married Dorothy Mae Lyons in Flint on September 2, 1947. Â Mr. Metivier retired from General Motors in 1990 after 38 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; his four daughters and their spouses, Pamela (James) Trembley of Grand Blanc, June (Gerald) Gall of Grand Blanc, Annette (Greg) Fritz of Vienna, Virginia, Patricia (Don) Davis of Luzerne; and his two sons, George Jr. and fiance Teresa Golliher of Gainesville, Florida, Stephen of Fenton; A son, Thomas predeceased him. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, Carrie, Thomas, Jesse, Reggie, Erin, Jon, Geena, Kaitlin and Angelia; and his four great-grandchildren, Lilly Bea, Charlotte Mae, Bryce and Jessie. Also surviving are his brothers, John and Charles, his sisters Theresa, Margaret and Grace. Mr. Metivier was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret (King) Metivier. The family wish to thank the team of doctors at the Henry Ford Hospital, the nurses at Avalon Hospice Center and in particular Dr. Regis A. Benton, Jr. for their professional and loving care.
