LASKOWSKI, George Joseph Sr., age 88, of Fenton, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, January 3, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. The family will receive friends 10:30AM Thursday until time of mass at the church. Interment in St. John Cemetery, Fenton. Military honors will be performed at the cemetery under the auspices of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-9PM Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John GIFT Campaign or a charity of one's choice in George's name. George was born September 19, 1919 in Detroit, the son of Thomas and Rose (Kaminski) Laskowski. He married Sophie R. Stapczynski on September 13, 1941 in Detroit. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He retired from Chrysler after 33 years employment in skilled trades. George lived in Fenton since 1988, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Fenton Council, 3rd Degree. He and his wife Sophie were known as the "Great Geordini and Sophia", an acting team for the Hartland Seniors. They entertained groups of all ages, bringing great joy and laughter to all in attendance. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Sophie; 4 children, Judith Wilemski (Denis) of Shelby, June Enlow (Jim) of Jackson, Janice Rotarius (Tim) of Chesterfield, Gary Laskowski of Grand Blanc; 4 grandchildren, Kristofer Enlow (Kristen), Nicholas Enlow, Sarah Rotarius and Joshua Rotarius; great-granddaughter, Kate; sister, Evelyn Laskowski.
