George Gardner

GARDNER, George - age 90, of Linden, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Caretel Inns of Linden. Funeral mass will be celebrated 12 PM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. Jim Rolph celebrant. Interment will be held 2:30 PM Thursday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will also be held 11 AM - 12 PM Thursday at the church. George was born July 4, 1926 in Lake Linden, MI. He married Carol Laurin on October 21, 1950. George was a veteran and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a devout Catholic and involved in many volunteer organizations including Knights of Columbus, VFW and hospice. He and Carol raised their 5 children in the Flint area and then re-located to Florida. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife in 2014 and his oldest daughter Lynn in 2016. Surviving are his children Gordon Gardner and wife Joann, Beverly Gardner, Donna Reynolds and husband Keith, Michelle Callard and her husband Michael. Grandchildren Tammie Gardner, Tiffanye Promenchenkel, Greg Gardner, Anthony Walker, Heather Myers, Lindsey Walker, Braedan Werth, Garrett Callard and Matthew Callard, and many great-grandchildren.
