George Earle

EARLE, George James - age 74, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, September 24, 2016. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Earle was born July 14, 1942 in Flint, the son of George and Ella (Newcombe) Earle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in First Air Cavalry in Vietnam where he received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He married Karen Leffler on May 16, 1963 and retired form General Motors in 2004. Surviving are: wife, Karen; three children, James Earle, Susan Earle and Daniel Earle, all of Swartz Creek; five grandchildren, Carey, Eric, Derek, Jenna, and James; sister, Mary (John) Porn of Davison; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave and Sharon Jensen; special nieces, Susan O'Leary, Chris Zylstra; special nephew, Art O'Leary; many other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Gretchen Valley and Virginia O'Leary; nephew, James Valley.
