BROWN, George Wayne Pops  Age 87, beloved father, grandfather and uncle passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint with Pastor Larry Rednower officiating. Interment will be held Friday in Ohio. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. George was born February 6, 1917 in Marietta, OH and moved to the Flint, MI area in 1936 where he resided for the remainder of his life. Mr. Brown proudly served his country in WWII as a paratrooper with the 13th Airborne. He retired from General Motors in 1973 after 38 years of employment. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and making numerous trips to his birthplace in Ohio to visit friends and family. George is survived by his five children: four sons, Alan Buck and Kaye, George and Martha, John and Jill, Jim and Gilda; daughter, Sandy. He is also survived by: 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his father, mother, three brothers and one sister.
