George H. Blomster

March 5, 1928 — August 27, 2006

Blomster, George Hyette, of Fenton, beloved husband of Patricia L. Blomster for 56 years; father to Kevin E. Blomster and Aaron N. Blomster; and grandfather to Pearl E. Xedos. George was born on March 5, 1928 to George E. and Orena (Quick) Blomster in Edmonds County, South Dakota. His mother died in 1931 leaving his father with four young children to rear. George's father was remarried in 1935 to Pauline (Miller) Blomster and they added three more children to the Blomster household. The family moved to Wayne, Michigan in the early thirties. Following in his father's footsteps, George took up the carpentry trade and eventually became a residential builder. He loved his country dearly and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He met his future wife, Patricia, in July of 1950 and they were married on August 5, 1950. George loved people; the smaller they were, the more he loved them. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was very excited about the recent purchase of 'The Mansion' to accommodate the rapid growth of the congregation. He was preceded in death by his father, George E. Blomster; mother, Orena (Quick) Blomster; sisters, Frances and Mathilda Mae Young. He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Olson) Blomster; sons, Kevin E. (Trena) Blomster and Aaron N. (Teresa) Blomster; granddaughter, Pearl E. Xedos; sisters, Phyllis M. Blomster, Pauline Frances Rouzaud, Mavis Perez and Alice Lee (Ron) Metevier.  Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 806 Main St., Fenton. Rev. Dean Dumbrille officiating. Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. Interment in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia. Visitation will be held 2-8PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.
