BENCHECK, George Raymond "Butch", Jr. - age 64, of Holly, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Butch was born October 15, 1949 in Flint, the son of George Raymond and Mary Jane (Campbell) Bencheck, Sr. He was a graduate of Atherton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Butch married Jill Lawrence on May 2, 1981 in Flint. He retired from General Motors Buick Motor Division in 2006 after 38 1/2 years of service. Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing and auctions and he loved spending time up north with family. Surviving are: wife of 33 years, Jill; four sons, Ryan, Jeffrey. George III and Anthony Bencheck; grandchildren; sisters, Debbie, Laurie and Diane; brother, Larry. His beloved pets, Shelby, Bo and daisy also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Randy and Richard. Family extends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice.
