ANIBAL, George Arthur - Age 82, of Flint, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, December 12, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint Thursday from 4-8 PM and at church Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Thursday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice. George was born February 16, 1932 in Argentine the son of James Franklin and Hazel Irene (Buckston) Anibal. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Mary Ann Kocsis October 13, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flint. He retired in 1992 from GM Metal Fab after 37 1/2 years of service. He was member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. He also was involved with the Neighborhood Watch program. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann; son, James S. Anibal of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Theresa Ellis of Arizona; Jonathon and wife April Brophy of Arizona; great granddaughter, Taylor Ellis; and great grandson, Tyson Ellis.
