Geneva Lois HOUSE

HOUSE, Lois G. -- Age 97, of Flushing, died November 13, 2011 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday, November 19 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Tom Knight officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, and 10 AM until the time of the funeral on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or Salvation Army. Mrs. House was born May 6, 1914 in Shelburn, IN. She was married to Henry Walter House on February 8, 1936; he preceded her in death August 12, 2006. She and her husband lived with daughter Joy and son-in-law Al for 4 years, and then son Larry and daugher-in-law Chris of 5 years. It was important to her children that she was not in a nursing facilty and it was a privilege for them to have Lois in their homes. Mrs. House worked as a cashier in the cafeterias at Flint Southwestern and the U of M Flint. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in New Port Richey FL, and attended Faith Missonary Church in Flint Township. Surviving are: three children, Joy and husband Alfred Hanje of Gaylord, Gerald House and wife Sharon of Flint, Larry House and wife Chris of Flushing; 18 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Joy Snellenburger of Indiana; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Bolinger; father Harrison Bolinger; step-mother, Ethel Bolinger; 3 brothers, Edgar, John "Bill", and Homer Bolinger; and daughter-in-law Connie House.
