Gene Ripenbark

RIPENBARK, Gene Dale -- Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died September 14, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, September 21 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel. Our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek (Mundy Township). Interment in Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 PM - 8 PM Thursday and again from 10 AM Friday until time of service at Hill Creek Church. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. The family invites everyone to drive their Hot rod or Vintage cars for the procession in honor of Gene. Gene was born January 20, 1939 in Twining, MI. the son of Floyd and Eva (Clark) Ripenbark. He retired GM Flint Truck and Bus. He was an avid car fan. He built cars. He also raced cars at Whittemore Speedway and others. He was a member of Rods and Relics Car Club of Northern Michigan. He is survived by 6 children, Kelly (David) Howe of Swartz Creek, Donald (Lee) Ripenbark of Swartz Creek, Michael Ted Ripenbark of Flint Township, Robyn Ripenbark of Flint Township, Katherine (Danny Bragg) Ripenbark-Bragg of Swartz Creek, Scott Cowan of Weirsville, FL; 11 grandchildren, Kerri, Joshua, Jordan, Samantha, Crystal, Kevin, Melissa, Karen, Kaylea, Jessica, Dustin; 20 great grandchildren; mother of his children, Charlene Bragg; siblings, Ruth Ann Colvin, Sandra (Alfred) Maxwell, Harold Bronson, Sally (Bronson) Deem; brother-in-law, Michael Standley Sr.; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Gregg Kopkau.
