Gene Allen Mausolf

MAUSOLF, Gene Allen - Age 65, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at his residence. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Joy Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Tuesday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Father John Flying Club in Flushing, MI. Gene was born May 13, 1944 in Bad Axe, MI, the son of John Leon and Monica Wanda (Duda) Mausolf. He married Christina Winski on April 1, 1967 in Flint, MI. Gene was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1967-1971. He retired from Delphi on October 30, 2008 after 42 years of service as an Engineer. Gene was a private pilot and craftsman, and enjoyed photography. He was a member of the EAA and Father John Flying Club in Flushing, MI. Surviving are: wife, Christina; three children, Roger Mausolf of Swartz Creek, Gina and husband, Henry Walker of Swartz Creek, Gordon Mausolf and wife, Melissa of Bridgeport; four brothers, Thomas Mausolf and wife, Alexandra of Palo Alto, CA, John Mausolf of Las Vegas, NV, Frank Mausolf and wife, Rja of Salinas, CA, Steven Mausolf and wife, Larisa of Port Austin; sister, Ruth Ann and husband, Edward Mickelson of New Harmony, UT; and several nieces and nephews.
