Gearld S. Warren

WARREN, Gearld S.  Age 70, of Flint, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Monday, January 3, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Minister Mark Aites officiating. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Saturday, 1-9 PM Sunday, 11 AM until the time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Jodi Warren Educational Fund. Gearld was born June 30, 1934 in Flint the son of Frederick and Mildred (Schilder) Warren; he had resided in the Flint area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He married Sue Copeland on November 9, 1974 in Flint. He had worked as a commercial roofer, then worked for Fenton Memorials for 10 years, then retired as an over the road truck driver with Red Shears. He raced at Auto City Speedway for over 20 years. He was a hunter, fisherman, and avid NASCAR fan. Surviving are: wife, Sue; 5 children, Wesley Warren and wife Lori, Debrina Johnson and husband John, Jeri Jackson and husband Steven, Shannon Warren, Jodi Warren; 6 grandchildren, Korana, Levi, Johnathon, Allyssa, Courtney, and Steven Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren, Emilee and Trevor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Victor Warren, Evon Kellogg, Carmen Quarrels, Alvin Warren, Grace Viola Warren.
