KINDER, Gayle -- of Burton died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Regency of Grand Blanc. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 W. Court St., Flint, Rev. Jeremy Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Services provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of service Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Court Street United Methodist Memorial Fund. Miss Kinder was born in Flint, Michigan. Daughter of Wray Kinder and Mary (Parsons) Kinder, and had lived in Flint her entire life. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and Baker College. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church; past member of the Administrative Board, Board of Trustees, Chairman of Memorial Committee, and served on various other committees. She was also a member of the Friendship Circle. Miss Kinder was a past member of Quota Club of Flint, joining in 1966, and Quota Club's President 1970-1972. Past member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board of Directors, receiving the Hands of Mercy Award in 1997. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of Kearsley Manor Retirement Home, Inc. She also served on the Visiting Nurse Association Board and the Flint Institute of Music. Miss Kinder was employed at Hurley Medical Center from 1940 until her retirement in 1975. She served as Administrative Secretary to the Director and the Board of Managers for 12 years. From 1940-1943 she was the Assistant Admitting Officer. In addition she was Administrative Assistant in the Public Relations Department and was instrumental in organizing the Hurley Hospital Auxiliary and served as its Volunteer Service Director. She was also employed for 4 years in the Radiology Department as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Radiology. She leaves nephew and niece Dr. Jack K. Burr (wife, Darlene Burr); four great-nieces and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Burr and brother Harold M. Kinder; special friends, Mary Louise Miller and Janet Williamson and Rose Shelley and Jan Staehli.
