DARAGO, Gasper Gabriel  age 88, of Burton, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Montrose Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. with Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Friday at the funeral home where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Montrose Nursing Home Activity Fund. Mr. Darago was born April 17, 1917 in Dixon, IL, the son of Gabriel and Regina (Nagy) Darago. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Flint. Mr. Darago retired from AC Spark Plug and was the founder of Dort Credit Union and one of the founders of Holy Redeemer Credit Union. He resided in Burton most of his life and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Burton Eagles Club and a former referee for basketball and football. Mr. Darago was a paper deliverer for the Flint Journal for 20 years, retiring at age 85. Surviving are: four daughters, Nancy L. (Ken) Jacob of Trinity, FL, Shelia (Curt) Balius of Linden, Tanya L. (Bob) Roth of Prudenville, and Kim Bedford of TX; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and son, Kevin Darago.
