Gary Heaphy

HEAPHY, Gary Edward - Age 75, of Fenton, died Wednesday, December 1. 2021.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (A live stream will be available on Gary's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. David Harvey officiating.  Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4-8 PM.  Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Gary was born October 17, 1946 in Detroit, the son of Edward A. and Lauretta (Hardy) Heaphy.  Dedicated husband, loving father and adored grandfather.  His illustrious career spanned nearly 40 years as an Automotive Executive with General Motors and Chrysler.  He dedicated his life to his family, his wife, Joan, whom he spent over 54 years adoring, three children, Michele Heaphy, James (Allison) Heaphy, and Meredith (Michael) Johnston.  His true passion was his 6 grandchildren: Katelyn (Michael) Heaphy Zeolla, Emilee Heaphy, Vincent Heaphy, Keagan Johnston, Delaney Johnston, and Kieran Johnston.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lynn Moore; brothers-in-law, Gordon Moore, Kenneth Keller, Glenn MacDonald; and nephew Steven Keller.  Beloved brother of Chris (Jan) Heaphy, Maureen Heaphy, Karen White, Kimberly Heaphy, Michael (Tonya) Heaphy.  Dear friends, Robert (Sandy) Hauxwell and Jimmy (Sharon) Carter.  His generous and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all but live on through his family.  The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Select Specialty Hospital at McLaren-Flint.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
