GOODHEART, Gary J. - Age 45, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Ted Culver and Rev. Fr. William Wegher officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6-9PM Friday, 12Noon-4 and 6-9PM Saturday at the funeral home. The family will also receive visitors from 1PM until the time of service Sunday. A rosary will be recited 8PM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to an Educational Trust Fund for his children or to a charity of choice. Gary was born December 28, 1961 in Flint the son of Elmer and Alice (Sherwood-Bates) Polk and had lived in the Swartz Creek area all of his life. He married Maribeth Malenich June 14, 1986 in Flushing. He was an engineer at General Motors for 21 years, most recently at GMSPO. He was a member of Ainsworth Baptist Church. Gary loved hunting, gardening and was everyone's handyman. He was an avid reader and enjoyed singing, but above all was a dedicated, loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife, Maribeth; 2 children, Samantha and Zachary both at home; 3 sisters, Jody Polk (Todd), Cathy and husband Lloyd Wrisley, Carolyn and husband Dan Hamilton; 2 brothers, Jeff and wife Vicky Polk, Gregory and wife Becky Goodheart; several nieces and nephews, Amy, Audra, Shannon, Taylor, Ryan, Rachel, David, Grace, Ava, Andrew, Hunter, Holden, Jessica and Lucas.
