Gary Allan Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS, Gary Allan - age 67, of Linden, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 3, 2009 at his residence. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, April 6, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Saturday and 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice, Center for Gerontology or Heritage Hills Church. Gary was born January 29, 1942 in Flint, the son of Carleton and Irene (Cosi) Fairbanks. He was a 1960 graduate of Linden High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Military Police. Gary married Janice Partridge on May 1, 1965. He owned and operated Fairbanks Service Station from 1966 until 2003. Gary was a very active member of Heritage Hills Church, served on the Linden Board of Education for many years, enjoyed organizing and running the Linden Road Races and had run the Boston Marathon for two years. Surviving are: wife, Janice; four children, Scott (Barbara) Fairbanks, Christopher (Delynn) Fairbanks, Kelly (Eric) Miller, all of Linden and Jonathan Fairbanks of Grand Blanc; 10 grandchildren; aunt, Alice Selley and cousin, Margaret Haley also survive him.
