COX, Gary W. - age 65, of Linden, died Monday, August 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Thursday and 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Mr. Cox was born February 9, 1947 in Flint, the son of Donald George Cox and Bertha Isabell Swedorske. He retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and spending time upnorth. He was a member of the Fenton and Comins Eagles. Gary is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Ted (Corine) Schuler, Vicki (John) Makaravage, Sally (Jeff) Chaltraw, Venis Cox and Gary W. Cox II; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; mother, Bertha Torrey; sisters, Janet Manley, Angel Torrey Peterson and Diane Torrey; brother, Alvin Torrey; many nieces and nephews.
