KING, Gale Gifford - Age 68, of Flint, formerly of Brighton, died April 12, 2012. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, April 16, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Hidden Springs Church Missions Fund. Gale was born September 9, 1943 in Eaton Rapids, the son of Niagle B. and Vera Luatta (Smith) King. He had worked for General Motors, the Penske for 38 years. Following retirement, he was employed at First Class in Brighton. Mr. King was a longtime member of Hidden Springs Church in Howell, where he was very active in the Mexico Mission Trips. Surviving are: wife, Ruth Ann; daughter, Melissa King; son, Ben (Charlene) King; step-daughter, Marcia Phillips; step-son, Bruce (Michelle) Merrifield; special tractor riding and fishing pal, granddaughter, Morgan Phillips; grandchildren, Melody (Bob) Bretz, Harmony (Steve) O'Dette, Paige Smith, Garrett Garwood, Seth, Sierra and Sophia Merrifield, Scott, Nick and Charles Rose; great-grandchildren, Gavin Horton and Maddex O'Dette; sisters, Dee Harrison, Mary Lou (Virgil) Craunn, Norma Snyder, Ellen Uhl; very special friend, Larry (Verna) English; many other family and friends.
