Gail Duey

DUEY, Gail Marlene - Age 69, of Swartz Creek, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022.  Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM EDT Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  A live stream of the service will be available on Gail's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of service.  Those desiring to do so may make contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/givehope).   Gail was born October 23, 1952 in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Kemp) Weber.  She was a 1970 graduate of Milford High School.  She married Robert Corey Duey on June 19, 1976 in Milford.  Gail lived in the Fenton area most of her adulthood and resided in Swartz Creek for the past nine years. She retired from Kelsey-Hayes in Milford after 30 years of service; she then worked for Walmart in Fenton for 18 years.  She is fondly remembered for the encouragement that she gave to her fellow employees and how she would often praise them by saying “Thanks for all you do.”

Gail enjoyed crafting, sewing, upholstering, gardening, cooking, shopping for bargains, but most of all spending time with those she loved.  She was known for her big heart and how she treated everyone as though they were family.  She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Stacey (Rodney) Babcock of Linden, Jennifer Jackson of Fenton, Shelley (Jonathan) Maxson of Swartz Creek, and Corey Duey of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Kyle, Jalen, Jace, and Mazen Babcock, Kayla, Ashley, and Danielle Jackson, Aaliyah Maynard, Korbin and Jack Maxson; great grandson, Greyson Jones; mother, Dorothy Weber of Florida; sister, Julie Weber of Florida; and nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Weber.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
