Frederick Thorin

THORIN, Dr. Fred D. - Age 81, of Fenton formerly of West Bloomfield and Birmingham, died October 23, 2008 in Good Hart, MI. A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM Monday, October 27, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Mrs. Paula Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon until time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. Dr. Thorin was born November 26, 1927 in Detroit, the son of David and Lillian (Holmgren) Thorin. He married Gloria Barrington August 26, 1950 in Detroit. He retired as Superintendent of Bloomfield School District and had also been Superintendent of Lamphere Public Schools in Madison Heights and Wayne Public Schools in Wayne, NJ. Surviving are: wife, Gloria; 3 children, Ronald (Jan) Thorin of Fenton, Linda (Richard) Johnson of Bloomfield Hills, David Thorin of Newport Beach, CA; 3 grandchildren, Larisa, Kristen and David Thorin.
