October 16, 1930 — May 3, 2008

MILLER, Frederick Carl - age 77, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Pastor Glen Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 6-9 PM Tuesday and 11 AM until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Frederick Carl Miller Memorial Fund. Mr. Miller was born October 16, 1930 in Reese, MI, the son of George and Edna Miller. He married Joyce Empey on July 21, 1956. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years. Mr. Miller was very active in VFW Post #822 in Flint and had served as the State of Michigan Commander for the Cooties. He loved Tigers baseball and enjoyed dancing, singing and other sports. Surviving are: wife, Joyce of Grand Blanc; four daughters, Kimberly (George) Beckley of Flint, Jacqueline Machala of Owosso, Debra (Mark) Farley of Imlay City, Kelly (Akram) Hamady of Grand Blanc; six grandchildren, Scott Wheeler, Zachary Hawes, Joshua Nelson, Monica Machala, Bailey and Shayla Hamady. He was preceded in death by: six brothers. The family extends a sincere thank you to his very special friends from the VFW.
