Frederick Miller

MILLER, Frederick L. - age 74, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at McLaren - Flint. Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Entombment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Frederick was born September 22, 1940 in Flint, the son of Cloyce and Freda (Schroeder) Miller. He married Darline Werkheiser on August 20, 1960. Mr. Miller was a 1959 Golden Glove boxer and 1964 drag racer at Ubly Dragway. He loved cars and his dogs. He enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting. He was a mechanical engineer with his brother's company Miller Engineering and retired from Complete Design. Frederick was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are: his wife of 55 years, the love of his life, whom he was fiercely protective of, Darline of Swartz Creek; daughter, Cheryl and husband. Shon (whom he loved as his own son) Stevenson of Owosso; granddaughter, Lexi Stevenson of Owosso; two sisters, Dorothy Price and Lois Florkowski; brother, Ervin Miller; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, David Miller in 2011; and five brothers, Cloyce, Laverne, Donald, Kenneth and Darwin.
