Frederick L. 'Fred' Becker

BECKER, Frederick L. 'Fred'- Age 73, of Flint, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Rev. Grant Wessel officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12Noon until time of service Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Fred was born July 21, 1930 in Grand Rapids, the son of Louis Anthony and Martha Emily (Lutz) Becker. He married Margaret Mary 'Marge' Murphy June 22, 1963 in Flint. He had resided in Flint since 1988 coming from Lake Fenton. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a graduate of Alma College. He had been employed by GM Chevrolet for 10 years, then worked for Independent Order of Foresters as an agent for 15 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Lake Fenton United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Surviving are: wife, Margaret 'Marge'; 2 daughters, Kristina and husband Pete Karsten of Rochester and Martha and husband Richard Blanchard of South Haven; 4 granddaughters, Lauren Furey, Mackenzie Karsten, Katy and Emily Blanchard; sister-in-law, Patricia McVey of Flint.
