Frederic William Rais - of Fenton, went home to the arms of the Lord, April 19, 2023 after a long battle with multiple health afflictions.
Frederic was born October 20, 1941 to Theodore and Julia Rais in Detroit, Michigan where he grew up, graduated from St. Andrew's High School, then forged a strong work ethic that took him from shoe salesman to tire sales to insurance sales, and along the way, married in 1962. He then began to raise a family, and put himself thru college. He graduated as a journeyman, tool and dye maker and he worked for General Motors for 28 years at Livonia Chevrolet Spring & Bumper through retirement ('93). He held numerous other jobs after GM including: Motorama in Farmington, Carcustics-Illbrook in Howell, and Nickels Boat Works in Fenton.
His love of family, friends, and cars, shined throughout his life. He will mostly be remembered for cruising in his favorite hotrod, the black '57 Chevy convertible which he owned for 42 years.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn and son Todd; brothers, Theodore (Barbara), James (Dolores); sister, Esther; and Josie, his loving, devoted, supportive best friend and travel companion throughout the past 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his youngest son Eric and sister Bonnie.
Many thanks go to the wonderful Care Teams of Wellbridge Fenton, Residential Hospice and UofM Ann Arbor hospitals.
