GERHOLZ, Freda Freddie died peacefully at home on November 9, 2003 surrounded by her family. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Hills Cemetery where her ashes will be placed in the Memorial Garden. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Lawrence Kent officiating on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 11 AM. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at church. Freddie was born Freda Alberta Clark on January 30, 1902, in Golden Gate, Illinois, to Charles and Olivia Clark. During her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin she met her husband, Robert P. Gerholz. They were married in 1923 and moved to Flint. As an attractive widow in her eighties she was voted one of Flints best dressed women by the Flint Journal. At age ninety she joined Hurley Health and Fitness Club and worked out until her 100th birthday as one of its shining stars. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her sister, Barbara. Surviving are children: Robert C. (Dorothy) Gerholz, Barbara (Albert) Koegel, Janice (Dr. Fred) Pike; grandchildren: Robert C. Gerholz, Jr., Diana (James) Jonsky, Julie (Art) Veitas, Dana (Judge Duncan) Beagle, Mark Eneix, Anne (Jeffry) Rocco, Kathryn Koegel, Jane Koegel (Dennis Letbetter), John (Lisa) Koegel, David (Kathryn) Pike, Paul Pike, James (Carol) Pike, Laura (Kent) Kelly, Robert Pike; twenty-five great-grandchildren.
