Freda L. Franklin

Freda L. Franklin, age 79, of Durand, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. The Visitation will start at 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home - Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road in Fenton. Freda will be laid to rest at Christian Memorial Gardens in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Online condolences can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. 

Freda was born on March 28, 1944 to the late Elbert & Ruby (Guthrie) Craghead in Albany, West Virginia. Freda was a woman of faith;  she enjoyed attending church services and fellowship with other members. In recent years Freda took a liking to car rides, puzzles and coloring. She will forever be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. For many years Freda never went without having a dog, she had many throughout her lifetime. Freda enjoyed the simple things life had to offer but perhaps her founded memories where those spent in the company of her family. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Deb ( Steve) Hembree and Freda (Dale) Sawade; five grandchildren, Samantha (Fletch) Small, Daniel Hembree, Anthony (Kirstie) Hembree, Aaron (Kimberly) Hembree, and Justin Sawade; twelve great-grandchildren, Zarya, Chase, Naya, Alayna, Jackson, Olivia, Loretta, Aurora, Isaiah, Behr, Beau, and Ezra. She is further survived by her siblings, Nathan Craghead and Vernon (Linda) Craghead and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by many siblings.
