Fred Bell

Bell, Fred Arnold - Age 69, of Gaines Twp., passed away quietly with family at his side on November 20, 2019. Honoring Fred's wishes there will be no services at this time. Private Services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  A Celebration of Life will be held 2-4 PM Monday July 20 at the Swartz Creek American Legion., 3440 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice. Fred was born August 13, 1950 in Flint, Michigan. He attended Swartz Creek High School. He was a veteran of U.S. Marine Corps having honorably served his country in Vietnam. Fred married Brenda (Messenger) Dennis on December 17, 1976 in Flint. He retired from General Motors in 2002 with 30.1 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and having fun with his family and friends. Fred loved traveling especially to warmer climates. Fred was a longtime member of the Swartz Creek American Legion Post 294 and the Swartz Creek VFW Post 3720. Surviving are: wife of 43 years Brenda. Fred was a proud father of Lt. Col. Anthony (Melissa) Dennis; loving grandfather of Sevin and Sierra Dennis. He is also survived by siblings, Doug (Linda) Bell of Windsor, CA, Susan (Gary) Bratsch of Mesa, AZ, Lori (David) Hayward of Flint Township. He will be greatly missed by his favorite Aunt Eva; several cousins; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred "Pete" Bell; mother, Delores (Bullock) Gray; twins, Jeffery and Steven Bell. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
