Franklin J. "Toby" Jewell

JEWELL, Franklin J. "Toby" - Age 84, of Grand Blanc, passed away October 13, 2024 at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held from 1-7PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a Scripture service at 7PM. Visitation will also be held from 10:30AM until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to American SIDS Institute (www.sids.org). Franklin was born March 12, 1940 in Gaines, the son of Herman and Mary Rose (Sopko) Jewell. Frank was an accountant and enrolled agent, owner of Frank J. Jewell Company for over 30 years. He retired as a Switchman from Grand Trunk Railroad. He was a wonderful father and enjoyed being a mentor/teacher of golf to his grandchildren and great grandchildren traveling all over the state to be at their golf tournaments. Frank was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He had a love and passion for waterfowl hunting, pheasant hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jewell; children, Kimberly Ann Krease, Kayla (Joe) Kennedy, Kevin Jewell, Kirk (Tara) Jewell; grandchildren, Dianna Price (Kieler), Lindsey Kennedy, Dalton Jewell, Millie Rose Jewell, Hayden Jewell, Garrett Jewell, Connor Jewell and Chloe Jewell; step-children, Paula (Chris) Brooks and Mark Poppen; step-grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler), Bethany Brooks, Alex (Breanna) Poppen, Logan (Jaimee) Poppen; great-grandchildren, Riley, Kali, Mason, Oakley, Levi and Colt; siblings, Marty (Joyce) Jewell, John (Ginger) Jewell and Diana King; many special friends.
