YORK, Frank Paul - Age 85, died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Â Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Â Rev. David Spooner officiating. Â Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Sunday and 12 Noon - 4 PM and 6-8 PM Monday. Â In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contribution to Christian Apostolic Church, G-6350 Fenton Road, Flint, MI Â 48507-4755. Â Mr. York was born March 20, 1921 in Genesee County, the son of Paul Frank and Cora Mae (Corbett) York. Â He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. Â He married Ruth May Foltz July 12, 1941 in Burton and has resided in Swartz Creek since 1952. Â He retired in 1987 from GM Fisher Body Grand Blanc Tank Plant after 19 1/2 years of service. Â He was an avid deer hunter and loved flowers, gardening, old cars and horses. Â He attended Christain Apostolic Church and was a member of U.A.W. Local 1292. Â Surviving are: wife, Ruth May; 4 children, Elnora and husband Michael Vallet of Mt. Morris, Helen York of Swartz Creek, Ruby and husband David Carroll of Inkster, Eugene and wife Mary York of Swartz Creek; 4 grandsons, Paul, Matthew, Daniel and Patrick; great grandson, Gavin York; brother, Carl York of Tawas; cousin, Grace Evelyn York of Flint. Â He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack and Bill.
