WATTS, JR., Frank Benjamin - Age 91, of Fenton, died Thursday, August 20, 2020. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 PM Monday, August 31 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St. Fenton. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM Sunday, August 30 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden and at the church 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM Monday, August 31. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the National Museum of the Marine Corp., 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Triangle, VA 22172.
Frank was born February 5, 1929 in Mt. Clemens, the son of Frank B. and Lila (Rittershofer) Watts. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and he took part in Operation High Jump. He married Elizabeth Romzick August 16, 1952 in Detroit and she preceded him in death November 12, 2016. Frank owned and operated Watts and Whelan Co. Protective Services. He was a life member of the Northwestern Detroit Lions Club and was a trustee on the Board of the Leader Dogs for the Blind. He and his wife Elizabeth enjoyed wintering in Florida and summering in Northern Michigan for many years.
Surviving are: 3 children, Frank III (Evelyn) Watts of New Mexico, Mark (Wendy) Watts of Portage, and Cynthia (David) Casillas of Dearborn; granddaughters, Amelia and Katherine Casillas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Nathalie Farmer, Allison Treadwell, and Carol Welch; and 2 brothers, Jack and Roger Watts. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
