Frank Waligora

WALIGORA, Frank Lawrence - Age 85, of Pontiac formerly of Bay City, died Sunday, November 29, 2020. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at the church at 10:00 AM Saturday. Frank was born February 27, 1935 in Ferndale, the son of Thomas and Edith (Brookbank) Waligora. He was a graduate of Farmington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy where he received the Meritourious Mast Award for saving another sailor from drowning. He retired from J.B. Hunt Trucking Company as a truck driver with many years of service. Surviving are: 5 children, Norine Vunovich (John) of Littleton, CO, Shirley Ciofu (Patrick Priestap) of Fenton, Norman Waligora (Laura) of Newport, NC, Martin Waligora (Nadette) of Isanti, MN, and Jeffrey Waligora (Rose) of Seoul, South Korea; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Thibault of Livonia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Beatrice Eckert, Austin Waligora, Thomas Waligora, David Waligora, Martin Waligora, Jackie Stewart, and Veronica Waligora.
