Frank Tremont

TREMONT, Frank J. -- Passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015 in Grand Blanc, MI. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on November 13 at Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint, MI. Visitation begins at 10 am followed by memorial service at 11:15. Military Funeral Honors for the family is scheduled at 1 pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Frank was born on April 17, 1930 in Carrollton, MI. He graduated from Arthur Hill High and went on to attend GMI in Flint. He served in the Army as a tank machinist while stationed in Germany. Frank married Gwen Brown, May 1952. He raised his 4 children to appreciate the value of education and was proud that they all earned college degrees at WMU. He retired from Baker Perkins after 37 years and continued his career at Thomson- Saginaw as their Tool & Gage Inspector, retiring in 1995. Frank was known for his story-telling and outgoing personality. He was a man of all trades when it came to helping others with repairs and advice. He loved to hunt, fish and camp; especially enjoying his hunting trips to Canada and out West for big game. He also loved to golf, bowl and garden. He was an active member of Moose/Legion 107 and Honorary Life Member of American Legion/ Post 439, VFW/Post 1566, and of Pulaski Club. Frank is survived by his children: Karen (Doug) Benton of Grand Blanc, MI, Stephen (Sue) Tremont of Lake Wylie, SC, David (Kylleen) Tremont of Rochester Hills, MI; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Trepkowski of Bay City, Gilbert Trepkowski of Saginaw. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Anna; siblings, Dolores, Arthur, Arvin & Marian; wife Gwen and daughter, Denise. Special thanks to the staff at the Oaks of Woodfield and Heartland Hospice. In lieu of flowers, pay forward a good deed in Frank's name.
