Frank Albert OBEN

OBEN, Frank A., age 69, of Grand Blanc, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Fr. Steven Anderson officiating. Entombment at Crestwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Oben was born February 21, 1942 in Cheboygan, the son of Albert and Delia (Pasneau) Oben. He married Susan Nguyen September 5, 1966 in Vietnam. Mr. Oben was a graduate of Mott Community College achieving his Associates Degree. He also served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Oben was employed by General Motors as an inspector and retired in 1997 after 30 years of employment. Surviving are: wife Susan; 3 children, Kim Oben, Cris (Dale) Williams, Sandy Oben; 4 grandchildren, Robert A. Oben, Nathan (Courtney) Williams, Gage Kosmanopoulos, Sara Stone; great grandchild, Christian Williams; sisters Lucille, Phyllis, and Mary Lou; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friends, Mike Bailey, Rich Bucy, and Mark Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Oben. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors of Genesys MICU.
