Frank Nemecek

NEMECEK, Frank Martin - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steve Mattson celebrant. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Sunday, 2-5 & 7-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be recited 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or The Shelter of Flint. Frank was born December 25, 1920 in Swartz Creek, the son of Martin and Anastasia Nemecek and had lived in Swartz Creek his entire life. He was married to Margaret 'Marge' Suchanek on August 10, 1946 in Flint. Mr. Nemecek was a 1938 graduate of Swartz Creek High School, where he was Class President and Captain of the football team. He served in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater. Frank retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing. He was a member of Swartz Creek American Legion and a lifetime member of the Friendship Club. Surviving are: wife, Marge; children, Mary (Peg) Peterson of Cliffside Park, NJ, Frank II and Karen Nemecek of Petoskey; grandchildren, Spencer and Maddie Nemecek. In addition he leaves behind many loving sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, each and every one his favorite. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Bokor and Helen Nemecek; brother, Hank Nemecek.
