DICKENS, Frank Pogson  Age 93, of Fenton, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Alterra Winwood. Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association. Mr. Dickens was born May 8, 1911 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, the son of Charles and Mary (Pogson) Dickens. When he was 3 years old he and his parents moved to Hong Kong. He lived there until he was 16 years old, when his father was killed in a vehicle accident. He then returned to Scotland with his mother and 3 brothers; he went to work for Babcock and Wilcox. He then worked for Shell Oil Company as a Project Engineer. He had resided in Fenton since 1986. Surviving are: son, Graham and wife Sandra of Farmington Hills; former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Dickens of Fenton; 2 granddaughters, Tara and husband David Wakeham of Flint, Kirsten and husband Troy Rising of Fenton; great- grandchildren, Lily, Elliot, Ella, and Elizabeth.
