Francis Flynn

FLYNN, Francis Thomas - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died July 17, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 E. Columbia Dr., Durand. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Monday, followed by a rosary at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association. Francis was born April 11, 1930 in Flint, the son of Thomas Joseph and Carolyn (Peters) Flynn. He was married to Mary Anita Flynn on June 20, 1953 and she preceded him in death on August 14, 2012. Mr. Flynn was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1988 with nearly 40 years of service. Following retirement he split his time between Michigan and Arizona. He loved to golf and play cards, but his true passion was lawn bowling. Surviving are his children, Steven (Tim Kraus) Flynn, Linda Coyle, Patricia (Craig) Alexander; grandchildren, Shelby (Michael) Myers, Jeffrey Alexander, Sean (Laurie) Coyle; great-grandchildren, Aerieana, Sutton, Ellie and Alice; aunt, Louise Yunker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Theresa Ann; brothers, Gerald and Dennis; sister; Janette.
