THOMAS PATTERSON, Frances - Age 103, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Frances Thomas Patterson was born on January 8th, 1919, in Edmore, Michigan. A strong, independent woman, Fran moved to Flint, MI on her own at the age of 18 where she worked numerous jobs. Not long after arriving she met William V. Thomas, and the two quickly fell in love and got married in 1939. Bill and Fran had two children, Terry and Carolyn. Bill had assumed ownership of the Kewpee Hotel hamburger restaurant in downtown Flint, which would eventually become Halo Burger in 1967. The business was truly a family affair. Fran was an integral part in the running and growing of the business and played a pivotal role after Bill’s death in 1973. For Fran, it was always about her family, and she lived to see the birth and lives of 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren (and a third on the way). She loved nothing more than to “Sit long, talk much” with her family around her, laughing and telling stories, while sitting on the lake in Bellaire. Frances was preceded in death by husband Bill Thomas, second husband Pat Patterson, daughter Carolyn Harrison, daughter-in-law June Thomas, son-in-law David Harrison, and great grandson Cooper Randolph. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son Terry Thomas, and grandchildren Tiffiny Randolph (David), Tamra Arms (Alan), David Harrison (Angela), Tiger Thomas (Lori), Kim Butler (Mark), Travis Thomas (Hollister). Fran was a strong woman of faith and with that, she leaves a legacy of love, perseverance, and grace. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
