Frances Laverne Staley, 91, of Burton, peacefully passed away at her home in Burton, on September 6, 2024, as she went to her heavenly home. She was born on November 8, 1932, in Senath Missouri, to Lewis Floyce Cross and Sally Luella (Davis) Cross. Frances attended school in Cardwell, Missouri and later married Raymond Hugh Estes on December 14, 1951. In 1953 they moved to Flint where they built a life together.
Frances worked as a beautician for many years, bringing joy to her clients with her talent and kindness, before retiring to focus on her passions - gardening, traveling with family and friends, church and spending time with her beloved family. Each home she lived in was transformed with her beautiful flowers, drawing people to stop and talk with her about them. For over 35 years, Frances was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Frances married Victor Staley on October 11, 1986 and enjoyed six years being together before the Lord took him home.
Frances is survived by her children; Pamela Denise Coole, Raymond Keith Estes, and Kelly Frances Monk (married to Matthew). She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Staley, son Michael Hugh Estes (survived by his wife, Teri), parents, six brothers and three sisters. Her legacy of love and care will continue through her family and all who were blessed to know her. Frances will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Christopher Coole, Melissa Coole, Erica Lasley (husband Jonathan), Danielle Knoerr (husband Rodney), Steven Estes (wife Alissa), Rebecca Sponseller (husband Nolan), Bladen Estes, Paris Estes (wife Dana), and Georgia Estes. Frances also had nine great-grandchildren who all adored her; Emily, Joshua, Paige, Jamison, Henry, Fiona, Kaden, Kallie and Murphy Ann.
A celebration of Frances' life will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd Swartz Creek, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 with visitation at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Frances will be laid to rest in Montrose Township Cemetery.
