Frances G. MERINSKY

MERINSKY, Frances G., age 85 of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Msgr. Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-8PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM. Mrs. Merinsky was born in Vernon, Michigan on March 6, 1923 the daughter of the late Matthew Matuska and Frances Bouril. She married Joseph K. Merinsky in 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2000. Mrs. Merinsky was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and a dedicated mother to her children. She most recently enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, Surviving are: 5 children, Victor Merinsky of Florida, Robert and wife, Kathy Merinsky of Wolverine, Gail Gould of Flint, Frederick and wife Gloria Merinsky of Olmsted Falls, OH, Charles and wife Sharmon Merinsky of Ypsilanti; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Barbara Suhr of Sun City, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her son, James and sister, Mary Chika. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
