Fonda Lee KEENE

KEENE, Fonda Lee, age 79, of Swartz Creek, passed away January 5, 2012 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be Saturday 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene. Fonda was born April 27, 1932 in Leslie, West Virginia the daughter of the late Norris C. and Martha T. (Martin) Brown. She married Harry Keene on January 31, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky. Fonda was employed by General Motors Ternstedt until her retirement. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, and going to the casino. Fonda was a wonderful homemaker and cook, and loved to prepare meals and goodies for her family. She will be missed dearly. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Harry; two sons, Larry Keene (Gale), William Robert Keene (Marianne) all of Swartz Creek; 4 grandchildren, William Keene (Elizabeth Wallace) of Swartz Creek, Melissa Clark (Jeffrey) of Swartz Creek, Colleen Day (Tom) of Pinedale, WY, Ryan Keene of Linden; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexander Clark, Shelton Keene, Spenser Keene, Tommy Day, Delaney Day; two sisters, Mary Jane Brown of Springfield, VA, Vida June Brasse of Arlington, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
