WELCHER, Dr. Floyd Zell, Jr. Â Age 86, of Flushing, died Thursday, December 21, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Cremation rites have taken place and at Docs request no services will be held. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society or a charity of their choice. Doc was born August 20, 1919 in Hartland, the son of Floyd Zell and Margaret (Gilbert) Welcher, Sr. He was a graduate of Lansing Central High School and served in the U.S. Army Military Police during World War II. Doc was a graduate of National College of Chiropractic in Chicago and practiced as a Chiropractor for over 40 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, dogs and the Upper Peninsula. Surviving are: childhood sweetheart and wife of 22 years, Janet Hine-Welcher; two daughters, Pamela and husband, Steve Zopf, Joann and husband, Dave Lamb; special daughter-in-law, Teresa Welcher; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
