PETERSON, Floyd LeRoy (Mike) - Age 88, of Flint, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Kith Haven. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 31, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with Mr. Gary Turner officiating. Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 3-8PM . Those desiring may make contributions to Bristol Road Church of Christ. Mr. Peterson was born October 15, 1920 in Elsie, the son of Earl and Eda Peterson. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army, a P.O.W for 3 years and was a recipient of a purple heart. He married Mary Andrews October 16, 1994 in Flint. Mr. Peterson retired from Midland-Ross Company in Owosso after 28 years of service and had also farmed. He was a member of the Bristol Road Church of Christ, the Elsie American Legion Post #0502 and the V.F.W. Post. Surviving are: wife, Mary; daughter, Lynette and husband Michael Headrick; brother, Lawrence Peterson of Elsie; 2 grandchildren, Barbara and husband Luke Schihl and Charles Letts; 3 great granddaughters, Madalyn, Bailey and Amelia; several nieces and nephews.
