Floyd Alexander “Alex” Morris, or as his parents liked to call him, Xander, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2024. He was born to Katarin Legg and Floyd Morris on June 28, 1990.
Alex grew up in Grand Blanc, MI, and graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He had a brilliant mind, a kind heart, and an amazing sense of humor. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and smile.
Alex was an amazing older brother and son, and he strived to be a better man for his family every day. He was always willing to go the extra mile and never expected anything in return.
Alex loved playing all kinds of games. There were countless nights when he and his brothers would stay up way too late playing video games. We will always remember game nights, which could get a little heated because we all hated to lose. He was also a basketball lover and would take time every week to play with his little brother during the summers they worked together.
Alex was also a lover of well-crafted furniture, draft beer, anime, movies, history, books, cars, his Nikes and his Yeezys. He had plans to move in with his fiancée and their dog, Leia, whom he enjoyed taking to the park and roughhousing with.
Alex leaves behind three young nephews whom he loved fiercely and would do absolutely anything for. They will learn about the amazing man that he was through our favorite memories, which we will forever cherish.
Surviving are: his mother, Katarina (Martin) Legg, father, Floyd Morris; siblings; Ciara (Nolan Pacitto) Morris, Brandon (Rhaisa) Morris, Brandon Legg, Chanelle (Jason) Moe; nephews, Theo Pacitto, Ryland Morris, Zane Morris; niece, Haley Moe; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Linda Kasat, Ralph and Clara Morris; uncles David LaPoint, Michael LaPoint, Earl Mayo, and Sylvester Morris.
